Shoestrings - 'Timeline'

A great duo gone far to early. They have released only one album on Le Grand Magistery in 1997. Mario and Rose will release something new this year under the name Invisible Twin

The Soulboy Collective - 'Clique Tragedy' album out now

The Soulboy Collective debut album is out now on Firestation Records. A combination of Northern Soul and indie pop by that Jaris look-a-like from Kornwestheim. And an extraordinary video.

Strange name for a band, but the song is brilliant. They also had a single on Sarah Records.

The Andersen Tapes - As I Write 'Today' Ten Times

This is the playful, vivid and dreamy debut album by The Andersen Tapes on Swedish label Fraction Discs. Release date is the 14th of January 2011. The woman behind the project, Amanda Aldervall, was part of the Swedish indie pop scene during the early 2000s, when she formed Free Loan Investments together with Roger Gunnarsson (Nixon, The Garlands, Cloetta Paris). In 2008 Cloudberry Records released 'Smartypants' as the (now sold out) debut single by The Andersen Tapes. Click for an mp3 of 'Visual Explanations.'

Palpitation - 'In Five Years'

What can I say? Another great band from Sweden.

Cinnamon - 'Me As Helen Of Troy' (live)

Cinnamon was formed in 1993. Their music is hard to describe; maybe as contemporary, perfumed with Northern Soul nostalgia. Cinnamon's fondness for 60s spy movies melt brilliantly with Frida Diesen's breathy voice.

Bomb Pops - 'Girl Daredevil' (1995)

Click here for a free download of a great lost musical treasure.
One of my most beloved singles. So wonderful and catchy. Active from autumn 1992 through spring 1994, the Bomb Pops - Bryan Hanna, Rick Durgin, and Andrea Troolin - made a subtle yet not untangible ripple in the world of indie pop whilst keeping a low profile and playing just four fateful gigs in their hometown of Minneapolis, Minnesota USA. Their songs appeared on a few scattered 7" singles by the Bus Stop, Audrey's Diary, Spin Art, and A Turntable Friend labels.
